What I understood from the poem was that he was explaining the everyday job of people he watched day in and day out, he watched them wake up got to work and come home all crowed in a truck. He was also trying to give an image that were he lived the streets were more holes than street and that he lived in a small house and the yard was small, implying that they lived in poverty.
What i understood of the poem was that he was describing that everyday he did the same thing, wake-up, go home, and sleep and be ready for the next day.
i think the poem is about a Mexican guy that goes to work everyday. i would say hes an immigrant because he gets in a truck full of people. i think he lives in poverty and hes tired.
